Maharishi's integrated approach to health care is being introduced to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and India, thanks to a number of meetings and agreements during a recent three-week tour in those countries by Robert Schneider, M.D., dean of the Maharishi College of Perfect Health at MUM.

Dr. Schneider first traveled to the UAE, where the Emirati leaders plan to establish the most advanced health care facilities in the world—integrating modern and natural approaches to medical care.

He met with notable leaders in this field in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and other cities, and explained that Maharishi's integrated approach to health care uses the best of all systems of medicine -- modern and traditional -- with a
central focus on Maharishi Ayurveda.

"We explained how the Maharishi College of Perfect Health and Maharishi Health Center can fulfill this vision of integrated medicine most effectively, and all who I met with were enthusiastic to work together in
this area," Dr. Schneider said.

Following his visit to UAE, Dr. Schneider participated in a high-level workshop hosted by the department of traditional medicine (AYUSH) of the Ministry of Health in India, during which participants explored together how
Ayurveda can be brought to the world.

Dr. Schneider said there were many positive outcomes from the conference, including an agreement that he signed with Indian government representatives
for substantial funding of research on one of the traditional Maharishi Ayurveda Rasayanas for its anti-aging effects.

He also established an agreement with one of the top Ayurveda universities in India to collaborate on developing the curriculum for a Maharishi College
of Perfect Health and an agreement to offer a one-year M.A. in Maharishi Ayurveda to medical students at another university. And he met with a real estate development company and agreed to pursue the building of a Maharishi Health Center.

"The Maharishi College of Perfect Health and the Maharishi Health Center are Maharishi's supreme offering in the field of health care, developed over many years with the global Ministry of Health of the Global Country of World Peace," Dr. Schneider said. "The plan is to establish these institutions in all countries, starting with the U.S. (MUM), India, and the the UAE. Institutions in other countries are also currently underway.

The College will offer medical training and the Health Center will be a hospital that provides integrative care.

The Maharishi College of Perfect Health began on campus last year with the pre-med course and is planning to continue within the next year with a new master's degree program in Maharishi Ayurveda for health professionals. See http://www.mum.edu/premed.
