The group practice of Yogic Flying enlivens the full value of Natural Law and increases peace, harmony, progress, and affluence in the nation. 

The group dynamics of consciousness—the Transcendental Meditation and TM Sidhi Programme

On 21 August 1979, Maharishi spoke to World Peace Assemblies in France and Germany. World Peace Assemblies are special courses set up by Maharishi for groups of Yogic Flyers to come together for extended practice of the Transcendental Meditation and Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, in order to create coherence in the national consciousness of their country and in world consciousness. 

Maharishi’s major focus for many years was to have large groups of individuals practising Yogic Flying together in order to create this effect. 

Super Radiance is the name given by scientists to the effect of coherence that radiates from a group practising the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme together; the group’s effect is proportional to the square of its number. One hundred people practising the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme together have the effect of many thousands practising separately.
 
Coherence is the quality of togetherness or infinite correlation. It is created in two ways: 

1. When a group practises the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, everyone is related with everyone else in a very intimate manner on the level of consciousness itself.

1. EEG coherence is maximum during the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi for Yogic Flying—all the elements of the individual’s brain function as a whole, and the consciousness of all those in the group becomes and functions as one coherent whole.

The increased degree of coherence in the practice of the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme is due to the much deeper, richer effect of the practice when done in a group. 

Experiences are deeper in the group because the ability of perception becomes more refined. The awareness opens to itself more thoroughly, more intimately. Then it begins to be aware of the fabrics, the details of its structure, which are the Laws of Nature. 

During his talk* to the World Peace Assemblies in France and Germany, Maharishi explained that the the structure of unmanifest, pure awareness is the totality of Natural Law. Natural Law is awake in its full potential when our awareness knows itself thoroughly.
 
‘When we awaken Natural Law in a group,’ he said, ‘the whole group is the dynamics of Natural Law radiating an evolutionary influence. This powerful influence neutralizes all negative tendencies in the atmosphere.’ 
He explained further that the force of evolution is made of two values, constructive and destructive. For every step of evolution the first step must be destroyed and the second step must be created. 

‘Natural Law is always evolutionary,’ he said. ‘But if the constructive value of Natural Law is predominant, evolution will be faster. If the destructive value is predominant, evolution will be restricted. The same Natural Law will work in a vital way or in a weak way under different circumstances.’ 

Through the group dynamics of consciousness, Natural Law can be revitalized and made to serve the community in a more effective way. All institutions in the community will have an influence of success and progress. 

‘When people in a society are not educated to act according to Natural Law,’ Maharishi continued, ‘they violate some aspect of Natural Law, creating stress for the evolutionary force of Nature. The evolutionary force of Nature loses vitality. 

‘We have the knowledge now of how to revitalize the evolutionary force of Nature and neutralize the stress that the whole population is accumulating day by day. Therefore we have the responsibility to restore Natural Law to its full awakening.’ 

Maharishi said that physics, chemistry, biology, etc, have given us enormous possibilities by providing knowledge of how to act according to some Laws of Nature. Maharishi’s Science of Creative Intelligence has given the experience of the home of all the Laws of Nature, making the ownership of Natural Law a practical reality of this generation. 

‘The power of Natural Law in the hands of a group, a small percentage of the population, can change the quality of collective consciousness, enhancing the pace of evolution in the whole society,’ Maharishi said. 

‘In spite of the efforts of leaders in every area of society and regardless of the system of government, problems have continued to exist. It is not the system of government, but the value of Natural Law that determines the degree of peace, harmony, progress, and affluence in a nation. 

‘By enlivening Natural Law, we are bringing about a global transformation of life. We are reconstructing world consciousness through the same, effortless mechanics that Nature uses to keep everything evolving. It is a beautiful opportunity to create a problem-free society,’ Maharishi concluded.
