Susi Halley is a student in Maharishi University of Management's online program MA in Maharishi Vedic Science. She tells us how Maharishi University of Management’s online courses helped her life-long dream come true and, most importantly, why she chose this online program.

Why did you choose this program?

“My life-long dream was to study at MUM! As with many people, such a dream was out of reach due to life’s circumstances. The suddenly—or so it seemed after many years—there was an email notice describing an online degree that was available to anyone anywhere. It was the perfect opportunity and perfect subject matter, so I signed up without a second thought. For anyone who thirsts for knowledge and the highest experience of learning, MVS online is the program.”

How has the practice of Transcendental Meditation (TM) helped you academically?

“The practice of TM has taken life to such an elevated dimension in every way, one of which is the ability to comprehend and absorb knowledge effortlessly. There is never any strain in studying or doing homework in this program. Rather, TM makes it a great joy and pleasure because the students easily grasp the concepts in terms of our experience of consciousness. Everything comes very naturally.”

Tell us about your favorite experience as an online student.

“An unexpected benefit has been the close-knit community that has developed among the students. Even though we are situated all over the world, we get to know each other through the forums and webinars. The posts and comments from these new friends deepen and enrich the knowledge because everyone has a unique perspective. The professors and their assistants also develop a personal relationship with everyone.”

What do you do for fun?

“I work full-time as the assistant director and fiscal officer at our public library and spend most of my time on my large family and friends. I love to read, exercise, and study all things Vedic! Someday, I will also return to art.”

In the Fall of 2014, the Distance Education Department launched the online 3-year Master of Arts in Maharishi Vedic Science and will be graduating its first cohort of students in 2017. For more information about the program, and to apply for Spring 2017.
