The Maharishi School has international boarding students from China, Germany, South Africa, and Mexico and U.S. boarding students from New York, South Carolina, Texas, and California.

The number of boarding students attending Maharishi School continues to grow, with 28 attending this year—30% of the total enrollment in the Upper School.

Eighteen of the students come from China. Other countries include Germany, South Africa, and Mexico. U.S. boarding students come from New York, South Carolina, Texas, and California.

The boarding students live with host families in Fairfield, Iowa, USA.

"We're grateful to the community for opening their homes and hearts to students from around the world," said Richard Beall, director of Maharishi School.

He said that the students benefit the host family by offering a new cultural experience, and that their presence in the School contributes to cultural diversity.

"The presence of a multinational student population is a real advantage for our students in that it helps to prepare them for the world they'll be working in in the future," he said.

The students are in grades 9-12. Ten of the 28 are new this year, with the rest continuing from last year.

Dr. Beall said that the School intends to expand the program by recruiting students from additional countries as well as more students from the U.S.

He said the students provide welcome financial support for the School as well as for the host families.

The School has a total of 215 students, kindergarten through 12th grade.
