In the late 1990's many students came to Maharishi Vedic University (MVM) in Lvov, Ukraine. At that time this group of students was the largest creating coherence group in Europe. Many of the students were both practitioners of Transcendental Meditation and also training to become teachers of the technique. A short film made at that time presents students giving their experience of being at MVM Lvov.

At Maharishi Vedic University in Lvov, students reported that they found much more than they could have ever expected. During Phase One of the Transcendental Meditation Teacher Training Courses, one student said he received 'so much beautiful knowledge. I understood that my studies before were just a good preparation for gaining this deep knowledge that unfolds to everyone the real laws of life, the Laws of Nature that govern both our lives and the life of Nature around us,' he said. 'I want everyone to have this beautiful knowledge.'

Another student said that it was a difficult choice for her to decide what to do after finishing school. Her aunt is a teacher of Transcendental Meditation (TM) and all her family practise Transcendental Meditation. They advised her to go to MVU Lvov and become a TM teacher herself. She felt this was the best decision she made in her life. Her 'state of inner fullness and inner joy' gained at MVU Lvov 'allowed me to perceive in another way,' she said. 'Of course, it is my natural desire to give this beautiful knowledge to everybody for them to get this state of real joy and fulfilment in life.' Following her Teacher Training Course she returned to teach Transcendental Meditation in her home city, Sebastopol in the Crimea.

One student who had already been at Maharishi Vedic University Lvov for three years reported that he had many beautiful experiences through Transcendental Meditation. He is married with a son and was very happy to become a teacher of the technique in Lvov and 'to bring happiness to people and create Heaven on Earth here.'

'I became a teacher of Transcendental Meditation in 1993 in Moscow,' said another student. In the three years he was at MVU Lvov he was very happy to be a course leader. He met his wife at the university, and expressed his desire to share with everyone all the joy and love they experience at the university.

His wife commented that at this university she felt 'all her dreams were coming true.' She came to the university to become a teacher of Transcendental Meditation. She then went to MERU in Vlodrop, Holland, where she saw Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. She was a translator at MERU and then decided to go back to Lvov again to work as a translator because she 'wanted to make this knowledge that Maharishi has given us, available not only for people in Ukraine, but for all the people in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS, the former Soviet Union).'

Another student, finishing the Transcendental Meditation Teacher Training Course, said he had been very happy to spend a lot of time at Maharishi Vedic University. Now he was finishing the Teacher Training Course and wanted to create business opportunities in order to make the university fully self-sufficient.

Another young lady said that her time at MVU and completing the Teacher Training Course was the best part of her life. She returned to her hometown in Siberia where she wished to teach Transcendental Meditation to one thousand people and to then join the Mother Divine Programme—a special programme for ladies to enhance her own evolution and create more happiness, harmony, and coherence for the world.

Similarly a young man, a teacher of Transcendental Meditation for six years, had returned to the university for a period of extended practice of the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme and Yogic Flying. He then joined the Purusha Programme, a special programme designed by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi for single men to gain deeper experience of Transcendental Consciousness for themselves while at the same time creating peace for the world through the group dynamics of consciousness and the Maharishi Effect.

The creation of peace for the world and to bring their own happiness to those around them was the inspiring goal and ideal of these young students in the Ukraine. This goal is continuing to be realized by current school children and university students around the globe through the wonderful support of the David Lynch Foundation, which provides scholarships for student participation in Consciousness-Based Education and the Transcendental Meditation Programme.
