The simple technique for experiencing that happiness is within, independent of outside circumstances, is not new. Maharishi’s Transcendental Meditation Technique comes from the ancient Vedic tradition of knowledge, kept alive in India throughout time.

'Veda' means knowledge and refers to total knowledge of one’s Self. Through the grace of his teacher, Guru Dev, His Divinity Brahmananda Saraswati, Maharishi revived this ancient technique for unfolding full knowledge of one’s inner bliss consciousness. Through this ancient wisdom, any person, of any lifestyle or culture or religion, can experience his or her own inner reservoir of infinite creativity, wakefulness, intelligence, and happiness.

Speaking in the language of his times, the language of science, Maharishi combined this ancient wisdom of how to live success and happiness in life with modern science.

Now scientific research verifies the subjective experiences of individual meditators. There are over 600 research studies, verifying the positive benefits of Maharishi’s Transcendental Meditation Technique and an advanced programme, the TM-Sidhi Programme, published in research institutes around the world.

Scientific research on Maharishi’s Transcendental Meditation Technique supports what meditators around the world report: they can be doing the same old, ordinary things, but suddenly inner bliss and intelligence makes these moments more enjoyable and new creative solutions come to the surface.

For example, scientific research shows that individuals practising Maharishi’s Transcendental Meditation Technique exhibit enhanced creativity, increased intelligence and problem-solving ability, increased innovation, broader comprehension and improved ability to focus attention (increased field independence), increased good humour, increased job satisfaction, increased job performance, and decreased desire to change jobs.

Whereas Maharishi’s Transcendental Meditation Technique allows the conscious mind to experience the field of inner peace and maximum creative intelligence within, the TM-Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying, cultures the mind to act from this level so that even in the midst of dynamic activity, awareness of one’s Self—unbounded bliss consciousness—is never lost.

Scientific Research on Maharishi’s Transcendental Meditation and TM Sidhi Programme shows that brainwave patterns indicate high levels of coherence during the practice. Brainwave coherence means that the brainwaves from every part of the brain fall into step with one another so that peaks and troughs of the waves correspond, indicating great orderliness of brain functioning.

Brainwave coherence has been positively correlated with the experience of Transcendental Consciousness, or the experience of unbounded bliss consciousness within, as well as increased creativity, increased grade point average and neurological efficiency. During Yogic Flying, at the moment of lift-off, brainwave patterns indicate a state of maximum coherence, while individuals report the experience of freedom and happiness as the body rises into the air.

Learning to act from the level of one’s inner intelligence and happiness, one enjoys new energy and creativity transforming those once-boring moments into moments of infinite potential.
